Gap Year Australia :: What’s the cheapest form of accommodation?

What’s the cheapest form of accommodation?

Backpacker hostels are generally the cheapest form of accommodation, besides sleeping in your car or at a campsite. If you plan on settling in one city for a while, then a shared house could work out cheaper. Some hostels also offer long-term rates. Hostels are full of like-minded travellers and you’ll have a fun time as well as a good place to sleep. A word of advice: if the hostel has a bar, it is likely to be a party hostel. If you want somewhere quieter, pick a hostel without one!
