Flights to Australia
Australia is a long, long way from the UK! The flight time is about as long as it gets here on Planet Earth, but we promise that it will be worth it. When it comes to choosing your flights, the first thing you should consider is if you want to fly directly to Australia, or if Australia is going to be part of a Round the World trip.
:: Direct Flight
At around 23 hours, the flight is pretty hard work. Well, hard work in a sit down and watch tiny movies kind of way. From the UK you will have to land somewhere to refuel, so it is worth considering a stopover break of a few hours or a day en route. This breaks up the long journey and can be a good excuse to get another stamp in your passport. Routes to Australia stop off in LA, Osaka, Singapore, Bangkok and Hong Kong.
:: Round the World ticket
It sounds so good, doesn’t it? A Round the World ticket is a popular option for the adventurous. There are loads of options but essentially you get to fly around the world with a certain number of stopping points, for example London – LA – Fiji – Auckland – Sydney – Perth – Singapore – London. These tickets are often pretty flexible too, allowing easier changes than direct tickets, so when you fall in love with Oz, you can stay a little longer.
