Coach and Bus Travel

Travelling by bus is a popular backpacker choice as buses are relatively cheap, regular and they stop at many destinations en route.

Also, hostels often provide pick ups from bus stations which makes things a whole lot easier! However, distances are very long, so don’t forget to take a book or two! For example, Melbourne to Sydney takes up to15 hours on the bus.

Hop-on and off passes are a great deal as you can stop when and where you please along the way. Such passes are especially popular for the trip all the way up the East coast.
