Gap Year Australia :: Is it always hot there?

Is it always hot there?

Australia has a very diverse climate and is definitely not hot all the time! In the tropical north, there are only two seasons – wet season (November-April) and dry season (May-October). In the middle of the country and in mid-coastal regions, it’s generally just dry all time but it can get quite cold at night. The southern parts of Australia are normally dry(ish) and warm but in the winter months it’s rainy and temperatures can get quite low. So, not quite what you see on Neighbours, but Australia definitely has much better weather than the UK! Take good care in the Australia sun – it’s very strong and you will burn easily. Wear plenty of sunscreen, a hat and a pair of sunnies to protect your eyes.
